Area of Interest for Ventura Land Trust

The Ventura Land Trust preserves open space and provides public access to protect native habitat and biodiversity, and to enhance the economy, quality of life, and public well-being of Ventura and surrounding communities.

We do this by taking legal ownership, stewardship, or partial control over property at the request of landowners. Although our interests are Ventura County-wide, our primary focus is within our Area of Interest.

Outside of our Area of Interest, we work with other conservation organizations, such as the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, to secure open space.

Our northern boundary is generally defined by an east-west line running along the Sulfur Mountain ridgeline and a southern boundary that abuts the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy-Rim of the Valley base map. The eastern and western boundary is defined by the Ventura County line.
